So, if you’re looking for some inspiration, I’ve got 18 fourth of July porch decor ideas that are sure to make your summery front porch look like a star-spangled stunner!
18 Fourth of July Front Porch Decor Ideas
1. Hang a Patriotic Wreath on your door.

What better way to welcome your guests than with a beautiful red, white and blue wreath? You can stick with the traditional ribbons and flowers or you can get crafty and make one out of burlap, pinwheels or even pool noodles (trust me it is cuter than it sounds!). A few years ago I made a burlap wreath and I was so pleased with how it turned out. So charming and rustic!
2. Create a Rocking Chair Vignette

Rocking chairs just scream “front porch chilling” am I right? Pair a couple of them with a small table in between and decorate with patriotic pillows, a potted plant, and maybe even a cute little lantern or two. One of my favorite setups on a porch nothing beats rocking away and drinking some sweet tea on the 4th.
3. Display American Flags

This one is a no-brainer, but it’s a classic for a reason! Hang a couple of American flags from your porch railings or columns to get a patriotic feel in no time. I have to display Old Glory proudly on my porch for the 4th.
4. Make a Painted Pallet Background

And it’s easy to see why pallets are all the rage in the DIY world – they’re so versatile and cheap. Paint one (or a few) in red, white and blue stripes or stars and you’ve got yourself a rustic-chic backdrop for all your Fourth of July photos. I did this a couple years ago and it gave my front porch such a rustic vibe that I loved!
5. Add Pinwheels for decoration

Pinwheels are a fun, whimsical way to add movement and color to your porch. Pot them up, hang them from the ceiling, or even create a whole pinwheel “garden” in your flower beds. I love decorating with pinwheels, they make me feel like a kid again!
6. Display patriotic bunting

Bunting is a classic porch decoration, and it’s easy to find (or make) in patriotic colors and patterns. String it along your porch railings or across the ceiling for a festive touch. A classic red, white and blue bunting is a safe bet.
7. Build a Patriotic Topiary

Topiaries are always a classy addition to any porch and are easy to give a Fourth of July twist. Wrap the bases in red, white and blue ribbon or spray paint stars or stripes on them. Love the topiaries on either side of the front door – so chic!
8. Design a picnic area

Ok, so you’d need to have a pretty LARGE front porch for this—but if you can pull it off, then what better way to enjoy the holiday than with a good old-fashioned picnic? Set up a nice little picnic area on your porch with a blanket, basket and all the fixings. One of my favorite summer traditions is to have a picnic, although they can be a bit messy on the porch!
9. Hang Patriotic Lanterns

Lanterns are a great way to add some ambient lighting to your porch, and you can easily find (or make) ones with a patriotic flair. Hang them from ceilings or place them on tables for a warm, inviting glow. I’m such a sucker for decorating with lanterns. They instantly make a space feel so cozy.
10. Hang Patriotic Garland

Garland is a great way to add some color and texture to your porch, and you can find (or make) patriotic versions with stars, stripes and all sorts of fun embellishments. A few years ago I made a cupcake liner garland. So cheap and easy and turned out so cute!
11. Create a Patriotic Flower Arrangement

Flowers are a classic porch decoration and it is easy to make them patriotic with red, white and blue blooms. Put them in planters or vases or do a hanging floral display. There’s just something so fresh and inviting about flowers on the porch, don’t you?
12. Create a Patriotic Porch Swing

Porch swings are the height of front porch relaxation, and you can easily give yours a patriotic makeover. Upholster the cushions in red, white and blue fabric or decorate the swing itself with patriotic ribbons or paint. Oooh I just pictured myself swinging on the 4th sipping on an ice cold lemonade!
